This tower was located on private property inside Thomas Wildlife Management Area. Foundations are all that remain and are difficult to locate due to thick brush.

The Colbert County Forestry Office has pictures indicating Pope Lookout was originally built as a 100' wooden tower with exterior stairs. This was later modified to have interior stairs. This tower burned in the 1950s after a lightning strike and was replaced with a standard 100' steel tower. The tower was removed around 2000 and the land sold back to its original owner.
