Description
The first lookout here was a log cabin built in 1926 atop Blacktail Butte. Three platform towers followed in 1930. Then a 30' pole L-4 tower with 14'x14' cab was constructed from local timbers atop Frisco Peak one mile to the west in 1941. Last staffed in 1954 by Dale Gaskill, due to its remote location it was burned by the U.S. Forest Service in 1956 and remnants buried.
