Description
At the request of the city, the 70' iron tower was erected here in the Lynn Woods Park in 1926. Construction of the tower, phone and power lines were all paid for by the city of Lynn. As part of the agreement, the state staffed the tower as part of the forest fire detection system. It was last used in late 1960s.
