The first tower, a 40' Aermotor with 8'x8' cab, was built in 1915. Two miles of phone line were laid. That tower was the former Becket Mountain tower in Becket. In 1934, a new 60' Aermotor tower was built by the the CCC boys from camp 64 in Chester with ECW funds. In 1958, a new road and a power line were added. In 1961, two-way radios were installed. This tower was sold on eBay in 2003. A 2005 survey by New England FFLA Members confirmed that only footings remain of this tower.
