The first lookout on this site was a camp and tree platform built in the 1920s. A 40' L-4 tower replaced it in 1933. That tower was replaced in 1961 with a 41' treated timber tower with an ODF live-in cab. Structure inspections revealed dry rot in the tower, resulting in it being burned to the ground November 20, 2006.
