Visit Reports

June 7, 2017: Larry Schroder

Condition

Comments: Nothing remains of the lookout. Trees in the area have grown to the extent that the view of the surrounding mountains and valley is obstructed. I first visited this site in 1956 when a manned lookout existed. I remember the view being quite spectacular.

Electronics and Enroachments

Are electronic sites enroaching on tower? No

Access and Signs

Directions to tower signed? Yes
Comments? There is a parking area located off the mountain loop highway in the vicinity of the old guard station. A one mile trail starts there with two forks. One must take each right hand fork to reach the lookout site.
