Description

Located on the Fort Lewis Military Reservation, the first tower at Rainier was a 100' timber tower with an L-6 cab with catwalk built by the U.S. Army in 1942. In 1968 it was replaced by a 112' steel tower and sold in 2000 and then moved to and sold again to Islandwood. It took IslandWood until 2009 to get the new cab, treads, and stairs designed and the entire tower reconstructed. They had the dedication of the tower with its new name of Canopy Tower in May of 2009.
