Description

Built in 1942 by the Washington DNR, this 50' pole tower with an L-6 cabin was used to protect the surrounding forest and urban areas from wildfires including Weyerhaeuser's Snoqualmie Tree Farm on which it stood. It was removed in 1965, soon after Cascade LO was built on the same tree farm but at the higher elevation of approximately 3700'. The only remnant on this site was a wire, possibly for telephone, that ran across the site and dropped in the brush on the steep north slope of this hill. The site was overgrown with scots broom and berry vines around the trees.
