High Point Lookout is located on the western most rim of the Island Park caldera in Eastern Idaho. The original structure, a 20 foot tower with a small observation cabin and a residence ground cabin were built in 1922.
The lookout was replaced by a frame cabin in 1934.
The structure was destroyed in 1966. Wood footings and concrete debris remain at the site.
